IW DENTAL LABORATORY was founded by Ian and Lucy Woolley.
The aim was to establish a strong lab with clients across the UK and Europe, providing quality work in all aspects of dental technology.
The first technicians to join the lab were Jon Perkins, Chris West, and William Kovacic.

Jan 2010
Russell Jackson joins our team as head Ceramist and takes a leading role in the ceramic department, with many years of implant and smile design experience. (GDC registered technician)
Feb 2010
Upgrade of our Straumann ES1 scanner to the new ES2 scanner for faster scanning, Straumann abutments
and Straumann milled bars and screw retained Coron substructures. Addition of straumann milled Emax.

Shaun Rosati joins our team as a Metal/Gold technician. (Doing a dental degree in London)

Adam Dennis joins our team in the plaster room as a model technician.

Sherry Dempsey joins our team as a Ceramist with many years experience. (GDC Registered technician)

Jon Perkins takes control of the Prosthetics department to allow us to expand our range of implant prosthetics, tissue staining and attachment prosthetics.

March 2011
Ian attends the dental show IDS COLOGNE mainly to look at implant and cad-cam options.

Margaret May joins our team to cover a growing admin role within the lab having previous experience in laboratory administration.

As a result of the Cologne Dental show the lab takes delivery of the 1st Roland 5 axis dwx50 milling machine in the UK, along with the open Dental Wings series 3 scanner to allow us to mill our own Zirconia, PMMA and wax. To date, this is the single best investment I have made as a dental laboratory owner, giving us the total control of our production and allowing us to streamline the lab into a digital workflow. This has given us a consistent product and our client base has grown relative to this. We currently mill every substructure produced in the lab with fantastic results.

Niki Sharpe joins our growing ceramic team bringing many years of ceramic experience having worked in the UK, France and training in Germany. (GDC registered technician)

We have the Atlantis abutment software added to our dental wings scanner allowing us to produce custom made cad-cam abutments on all platforms with a choice of titanium, gold shaded titanium and zirconia.

Feb 2012
Jeremy Dempsey joins our team to add many years of model experience to our plaster room, also looking after Denar articulations and general articulating. This is a very important role and is often overlooked in dental laboratories.

Piotr Wozniak joins our team as a metal implant and cad-cam technician, with over 15years of experience in cad-cam Piotr has made a huge contrabution to the cad-cam department and has helped us refine our procedures to produce an even better product. Piotr is now enrolled on the degree course starting in Sep 2012 in Cardiff.

Will moves accoss as a Ceramist, also looking after the Implantology work.

Russell Jackson takes on the role of Lab Manager with Jon Perkins taking on the role of Assistant Lab Manager to support me in the management of staff and the work flow through the lab.

We are proud of Shaun Rosati who passes his degree in Dental Technology after three years at Lambeth college, London. He is now able to enrol with the GDC.

Jessica Welsh joins the cad-cam team to assist with the cad design within the lab.
July 2012
We take delivery of the 3-shape 810 scanner with abutment and implant modules.
